INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETTING UP YOUR STALL CURTAIN SUPPORT SYSTEM:
The support system for the stall curtains you have purchased consists of several upright aluminum poles with slots cut out at the top for the insertion of horizontal expandable rods that have a hook at each end for easy insertion into these slots.
The typical installation for a corner tack stall (two walls) consists of four upright poles, one at each end of the wall being covered with curtains; five horizontal expandable rods—three for the end of the stall where the valance, curtain and name panel will hang and two for the front of the stall for the valance and two five foot door curtains. For the full end wall, one rod fits in the top slot from which the full 10’ or 12’ curtain hangs, one for the second slot from which the name panel will hang; and one horizontal rod to be hung from the 8" valance extension hangers which fit into the top slots facing outward from which you will hang the valance. It is suggested that once the valance is hung, that you slide the ends of the valance onto the valance hanger all the way to the pole, thus covering up the hangers and creating a nice appearance. The narrow end of the 8" valance hanger fits through the slot with the back edge slightly protruding from the back of the rear slot. The serrated "teeth" rest in the bottom of the front slot. The horizontal rod has a "hook" on the end which will rest in the front vertical slot on the end of the valance hanger.
When you open your box of uprights and horizontal pieces, sort them out with the hollow four foot sections in one pile and the sections with the end hooks in another pile.
The upright poles now come in two 4’ sections. Assemble two sections together to make a 8’ high pole. Each pole is secured to the stall panel with plastic snap ties available from any hardware store. If you ordered pole covers, be sure to slip on the covers prior to securing the poles to the stall panels. The upper pole section has two levels of vertical slots around the top. These poles ensure a consistent eight foot height for your stall curtains at every show and when combined with the accompanying valances and name panels create a really nice and professional presentation for your tack room. NOTE: Install two upright poles next to each other at the corner of the stall where the front door panels and the end panels are adjacent to one another.
The horizontal rods now come in a three piece section. Two of the sections are shipped one inside the other and the third section is to be inserted into the center hollow tube once you slide the one already inside it out a ways to accommodate it. Thus you have a hollow center tube with two inserted end tubes that have the "hooks" on the ends that slip into slots at the top of the upright poles. The horizontal rods "lock" in place at various widths or can be left unlocked to fit different stall widths and there is a "button" to push in to allow for extension or shortening.
If you ordered pole covers, they are easy to slip over the assembled upright pole. Just make sure you have the open flap at the top so you can insert the horizontal rods into the slots at the top of the upright pole. Also, you will want to ensure you have the proper velcro (soft or hard loop) on the proper end so the curtain will velcro to the pole cover for proper tightness and security. The left pole should have the pole cover with the soft velcro in order to attach to the hard velcro which is on the left vertical edge of the hanging curtain. Be sure to slip on the pole covers prior to using plastic snap ties to secure the upright poles to your stall walls.
